Health and fitness experts around the world, have described biltong as the new superfood of 2016, because of its low-calorie, high-protein, amino-acids and vitamins content. Because biltong is air dried, it contains 3% fat, 50% protein and 64 calories in a 25 gram serving. While many people choose to snack on chips, compared to biltong the average bag of salted chips has nearly three times the calories, four times the fat and almost no protein. While a single serving of biltong can give you up to 20% of your daily protein requirement, which can also lead to a 20-30% in your metabolism. It’s a no-brainer why the snack has proudly become a part of the superfood family.
